Artists from around the Central Maryland region will be displaying their art for purchase and are always happy to answer any questions visitors may have. The upcoming March 22nd event will feature 20 local artists offering a variety of their works including jewelry, pottery, photography, paintings and other fine art.

The event is free and always open to the public. The Artists Market will be held from 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. at the Cultural Arts Center Gallery, 15 N. Market Street, Frederick, MD.

Special - March 22nd only

We will be giving a 10% discount off of the purchase price of any of Cindy or Russ’ photographic prints or notecards we have at this event if you tell us you saw it mentioned here. This offer does not apply to signed copies of Russ’ book America’s Road as we always offer the book discounted to $42.00 per copy at this location.

So if you’re in the Frederick area enjoying the weather and the wonderful historic district adventures be sure to stop by to say Hello! and take some time to look over the unique offerings from the many great local artists. We hope to see you there!

Recent happenings

Our Phoenix Imagery Press website is finally reaching completion though it will quite likely continue to be tweaked and adjusted for months to come! The link to our America’s Road site is expected to be up and running by the evening of 3/13/09 and will contain a brief overview of the book, where to purchase a copy, and links to related National Road sites and information. We now expect the link from the Phoenix Imagery site to our Among These Hallowed Grounds website to become active in the next 4 to 5 days. Of course we expected to have all of this finished long before now...

We have recently added some images from
America’s Road to our photo galleries and are in the process of adding more images and galleries and making select images available for online purchase.

We are fortunate to have had a number of our images on display at the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce offices since January (the exhibit ends March 26, 2009) and were invited to participate in the inaugural “Meet the Artists” & networking event held by the Chamber on March 5, 2009. We were very pleased by the interest in our work and having an opportunity to meet a large group of people representing a variety of businesses in the central Maryland area. We would especially like to thank Ms. Bonnie Schultz, Chamber of Commerce Vice President, for having initially invited us to display our work and also for inviting us to participate in this unique event.
dogs, leash, bulldog, 1st Saturday - People Watching

The Downtown Frederick (MD) Partnership hosts a First Saturday event in cooperation with local businesses and galleries each month. Events include art show openings and receptions, a gallery walk, and numerous activities and street performances. Owing to the beautiful weather and temperatures reaching an unseasonably warm 70°+ we decided to take a break and meet up with friends this past Saturday. This month’s activities were no exception! There were numerous outstanding art exhibits, carriage and wagon tours of the city, historical presentations, live music and good food, and large crowds enjoying the chance to escape cold weather induced cabin fever.

1st Saturday - Galleries to visit & wagons to ride horses, hay wagon, wagon ride, gallery

If you ever find yourself in our area on a first Saturday of the month be sure to take the time to check out all of the activities which start at 3:00 P. M. and continue in to the evening.

Introducing the Phoenix Imagery Blog

Welcome to the first Phoenix Imagery blog post. We may update the progress of our upcoming book Among These Hallowed Grounds from time to time or provide news about other artists and places of interest to us.

We will offer signed copies of
America’s Road : a photographic journey across the National Road from Baltimore to East St. Louis by Russell C. Poole available directly from us for $48.00 each (USD) plus shipping. Books will be shipped anywhere in the United States by USPS Media Mail and a shipping confirmation and tracking number will be e-mailed to you upon purchase. We will be posting the details soon at our America’s Road site here.

We will also be offering a few framed limited edition prints, signed by the photographer, of select images for sale. We expect to be posting thumbnails and prices in the near future.
